SUMMARY:PIERS 2026
DESCRIPTION:PhotonIcs and Electromagnetics Research Symposium\, also known as Progress In Electromagnetics Research Symposium \nEach focus Session in PhotonIcs and Electromagnetics Research Symposium (also known as Progress In Electromagnetics Research Symposium) should be focused on a specific hot topic that must be timely and reflect the future trends or the latest scientific advances in the area. The leadership of the conference will select the topics of focus sessions and the responsible organizers. The organizers may adjust the title of the focus session to make it e.g. more specific/focused and should make the best effort to ensure the high quality of the session by inviting high-profile keynote speakers (30 min for each; 0-2 keynote speakers for each focus session) and excellent invited speakers (20 min for each)\, etc. Some contributed oral talks (15 min each) are encouraged\, however\, quality must be very well controlled by the organizers with a typical acceptance ratio of less than 50%. Each focus session will last for a half-day (with a coffee break) or a full-day (with a lunch break and two coffee breaks)

SUMMARY:Benasque Quantum Optics
DESCRIPTION:The field of quantum optics has rapidly evolved from the analysis of toy models for atom-photon interactions into a general framework for quantum engineering and quantum control in very different systems ranging from superconducting quantum circuits and solid-state defect centers to levitating nanoparticles\, atomic arrays and Rydberg-atom quantum processors. \nThe workshop uses a format which is similar to the Aspen and KITP meetings\, with a very limited number of official talks so that participants interact at will. In particular\, we invite around 10 prominent scientists (mainly experimentalists\, see list below) in order to have an introductory talk every day aimed at stimulating subsequent discussions. Participants are encouraged to profit from the optimal installations at the Benasque Science Center (CCBPP)\, which includes offices\, blackboards\, and seminar rooms to self-organize discussions\, lectures\, talks\, etc. Benasque\, with its beautiful valley\, sports facilities\, and local exquisite restaurants\, offers an ideal atmosphere to trigger inspiring discussions and boost the social relations among scientists. \nWhile the schedule of the workshop is quite informal\, theorists (experimentalists) are strongly encouraged to stay two weeks (at least one week) in order to take full advantage of the scientific atmosphere.

SUMMARY:SQuIP - Solid State Systems for Quantum Information Processing International Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Quantum Information Processing (QIP) leverages the principles of quantum mechanics—superposition\, entanglement\, and measurement—to encode\, process\, and transmit information in ways that classical systems cannot achieve. By overcoming the limitations of conventional digital architectures\, QIP promises transformative advances in computing\, communication\, and sensing. \nSilicon-based microelectronics\, powered by complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology\, has driven decades of innovation\, but further miniaturization of transistors is approaching fundamental limits. Yet\, the vast industrial expertise in high-volume semiconductor fabrication provides an unprecedented opportunity: to merge these mature processes with quantum functionalities and establish solid-state platforms as a scalable basis for quantum technologies. \nSolid-state QIP has therefore become one of the most dynamic areas of Quantum Science and Technology. Progress is being made across a spectrum of approaches\, including: \n\nSuperconducting Qubits\,\nSemiconductor Spin Qubits\,\nDefect- and Dopant-Based Spin Qubits\,\nHybrid Architectures.\n\nTogether\, these solid-state platforms are advancing toward robust elementary operations\, quantum error correction\, on-chip networking\, and integration with classical control electronics. \nThe goal of this workshop is to bring together leading scientists and emerging researchers from across these diverse approaches. By sharing recent results\, identifying common challenges—such as decoherence\, materials engineering\, and scalable integration—and exploring new ideas\, we aim to foster collaborations that will drive the next phase of solid-state quantum information processing. The program will feature invited and contributed talks\, as well as poster presentations\, providing ample opportunities for both established and early-career researchers to engage\, exchange insights\, and build new connections.

SUMMARY:The 17th IEEE Workshop on Low-Temperature Electronics
DESCRIPTION:The recent progress in cryogenics technologies\, along with the increasing interest in space-based communication\, gives a new light to low temperature electronics. The increasing interest in quantum technologies and nanodevices\, most of which need low temperatures\, are envisaged as the traditional area of interest of the WOLTE community. \nThis workshop series has a consistent policy of holding no parallel sessions. Therefore\, its program is comprised of single technical sessions. This gives a unique opportunity to stimulate discussions among all the participants traditionally coming from a variety of semiconductor and superconductor-related research fields. Following its tradition of receptiveness to the emerging research field\, the 17th edition of WOLTE\, along with the traditional semiconducting and superconducting low temperature electronics\, will include new topics on quantum technologies. Industrial and technological applications will receive particular attention in a dedicated and attractive exhibition area.

SUMMARY:Sponsored Quantum Fringe 2026 event: Authentication for Quantum Networks
DESCRIPTION:Authentication for Quantum Networks is a two‑day workshop bringing together researchers from quantum communications\, classical cryptography\, theory\, experiment\, and industry to explore the authentication requirements that underpin secure quantum communication and future quantum networks. \nAlthough QKD is often presented as providing information‑theoretic security\, every QKD system depends on an authenticated classical channel. The details of how authentication is achieved\, what resources it requires\, and what level of security it offers are not always widely discussed within the quantum community. In light of recent scrutiny from organisations such as NCSC and NSA\, there is a growing need for clearer understanding across the field. \nThe workshop aims to provide this broader perspective. The programme will combine accessible introductory tutorials with more technical talks\, contributions from experimental groups working on authentication for QKD\, and insights from industry on practical deployment. A poster session will give PhD students\, postdocs\, and other researchers an opportunity to present their work and engage with the community.
