The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) are hosting a focused workshopon Quantum Communications innovation between Denmark and the UK, taking place at the Danish Embassy in London on 23rd October 2025, from 9:30am to 3:00pm. This isn’t a large conference—it’s a curated gathering of researchers, engineers, and organisations working on quantum network technologies, particularly Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). You’ll hear from leading experts including:
- Ulrik L. Andersen, Leif Katsuo Oxenløwe, Tobias Gehring (DTU)
- Mikael Østergaard Lassen (DFM)
- Rui Wang (Bristol), Rupesh Kumar (York), Roger Colbeck (KCL)
👉 Register here: Eventbrite – Driving Innovation in Quantum Communications. The day will include structured roundtables, networking, and targeted discussions on:
- Collaborative UK–Denmark quantum network projects
- Advances in discrete-variable and continuous-variable QKD
- The role of metrology in validation and standardisation
- Transitioning from academic research to commercial deployment
Also highlighted: the DFM/NPL collaboration on metrology for continuous-variable quantum communications—an important step toward European standards in this space. Importantly, the workshop is designed to help participants walk away with concrete, collaborative research ideas—ready to be developed into proposals for upcoming UK, Danish, and European funding calls.
